Abstract
A diet containing only small amts. of lysine produced cessation of growth and a retarded development of the hematopoietic system in young rats. Radiological examination showed a considerable decrease in subcutaneous fat, waste of muscle, and reduced calcification of the bones. The changes observed were assumed to be due to a general inhibition of protein formation and their similarity to changes produced by starvation is discussed. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
