Multiphoton stripping of heavy atoms by UV light: a statistical interpretation

Abstract
By using a statistical description of multiphoton processes in complex atoms, the author calculates the charge state distribution for various elements excited by UV light (193 nm). The results are in good agreement with experimental data.Keywords
