Abstract
Four of five strains of Campylobacter jejuni survived in chicken meat stored at -18.degree. C for 12 months. Direct plating of samples was superior to the most probable number technique for enumerating C. jejuni. Enrichment culture using the Doyle and Roman enrichment method resulted in the highest rates of detection.
