Abstract
The transformations useful on raw statistical data are summarized, with particular reference to the analysis of variance. The various reasons for transformation are outlined, and the type of data for which each transformation is appropriate is discussed. Considerations are given to the square root, logarithmic, inverse sine, and probit transformations, as well as to that of expected normal scores. Illustrations are used. Keywords
