Abstract
We construct a model for lepton pair production in the low-mass region ( GeV), determined by the production characteristics of inclusive hadron production at small . This description agrees well with lepton-pair data up to 3.1 GeV. We then apply our model at higher masses and compare it with predictions from pointlike-parton annihilation.
