Abstract
A simple expression of the high-field spin susceptibility for a ferromagnetic metal is obtained in the local spin-density functional formalism and in a homogeneous enhancement model. It is shown that the present result is reduced to that obtained by Vosko and Perdew (1975) in the paramagnetic state. For iron, the high-field spin susceptibility is numerically calculated by using the exchange-correlation potential of electrons obtained in the self-consistent calculation of bandstructure by Moruzzi et al. (1978). It is shown that the local field effect is important in the calculation of the high-field spin susceptibility for transition metals. Keywords
