Abstract
The urinary excretion of Na pregnanediol glucuronidate following the oral adm. of progesterone and anhydro-hydroxy-progesterone was studied in 5 young [female][female] with amenorrhea. In each case there was an increase in the amt. of Na pregnanediol glucuronidate in the urine following the ing. of from 200-500 mg./day for from 1-6 days equivalent to approx. 10% of the material ingested. Withdrawal-bleeding was produced several times in those patients receiving anhydro-hydroxy-progesterone but bleeding did not take place in the patient receiving progesterone. The amt. of material recovered in the urine was approx. the same when progesterone was given as with anhydro-hydroxy-progesterone but the progesterone appeared to be inactive. No change was noted in the excretion of keto-steroids.This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
