Abstract
When peripheral blood lymphocytes are cultured in vitro in the presence of antigen, a process described as lymphocyte transformation occurs. This morphological change in the cells has been studied in the light and electron microscope and related to the position of the cell in interphase and its ability to synthesise DNA. Information is presented on the presence of nucleoside diphosphatase in the transformed cell at different stages in the cell cycle. These findings are considered In relation to the problem of estimating changes in the culture as a whole fo?lowing antigenic stimulation. Keywords
