Abstract
A-B transition of superfluid 3He under magnetic field is discussed within the weak coupling theory which is known to be valid at low pressures. Free energy of the B phase under magnetic field is computed and compared with that of the planar state. The phase diagram obtained shows a satisfactory agreement with experiments. The phase transition between the B phase and the planar state is of first order below the tricritical point temperature and is of second order at higher temperatures. The tricritical point depends significantly on the Landau parameter. The weak coupling theory cannnot identify the order parameter structure of the A phase, because the A phase free energy has a complicated degeneracy. Keywords
