Two New Species of Trichuris from North America, with Redescriptions of Trichuris opaca and Trichuris leporis (Nematoda: Aphasmidia)

Abstract
Trichuris sylvilagi from cottontail rabbits (Sylvilagus floridanus), Maryland, has a spicule 6-8 mm long. T. maaisonensis, in Tamias striatus. from Wisconsin, has a spicule 0.82 to 0.95 mm long. T. leporis is reported from Citellus richardsoni in Manitoba. A redescr. of T. opaca is based on original syntype material (type host: muskrat Ondatra zibethica). and on additional specimens from the muskrat and from the vole Microtus pennsvlvanicus.Keywords
