Abstract
The line profile of Halphais measured in plasmas produced in liner flashtubes. The electron densities are in the range 6*1017-1018cm-3measured by independent methods. The full widths at half maximum of Halphaare given. At Ne=1018cm-3, the experimental and the theoretical profiles are compared. The red shift is measured and varies linearly with the electron density, in agreement with some theoretical work. Keywords
