Abstract
A commercial preparation of bovine testicular hyaluronidase (and in a few experiments USP Hyaluronidase) was injected i. v. into hydrated, ethanol anaesthetized rats. Doses exceeding a certain, remarkably high threshold value caused increased excretion of the enzyme in the urine and antidiuresis. The significance of this finding is discussed in relation to the current debate on the possible role of hyaluronidase in the mechanism of action of the antidiuretic hormone. Keywords
