Abstract
We calculate the response function for a one-dimensional Fermi gas using a model containing an offsite interaction of the Tomonaga form. The approach of Dzyaloshinskii and Larkin extended by Fogedby is employed, and the result is consistent with those of Emery and those of Lee et al.
