Lambda Polarization inKnΛπat 4.5 GeV/c

Abstract
An analysis is given of 236 events (102 ± 15 μb) of the reaction KnΛπ at an incident momentum of 4.5 GeV/c. The lambda polarization is large and positive up to a squared four-momentum transfer of -2.0 (GeV/c)2. The differential cross section has a dip near t=0.4 (GeV/c)2. The differential cross section for 87 events of the reaction KnΣ0π is also shown corresponding to a total cross section of 39 ± 10 μb.
