Abstract
Total solids measurements were made on monthly milk samples from 350 cows, representing 5 breeds, using 2 small lactometers (Watson-pattern and Quevenne). These values were compared to corresponding gravimetric determinations. Correlations between the small lactometers and the gravimetric determination for total solids exceeded 0.9 when compared at various fat levels. The Watson-pattern lactometer was more accurate than the small Quevenne. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
