Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 21-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of chronic nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, progressive weakness, and suspected polyneuropathy.The patient was well until the age of 14 years, when he experienced the sudden onset of abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. An emergent laparotomy showed edema and hyperemia of the ileal mesentery; adhesions of several loops of small bowel were observed, and a small amount of pus was seen in the pouch of Douglas; all mesenteric lymph nodes were reported to be enlarged. A specimen of the lymph nodes was obtained; microscopical examination of the specimen revealed . . .
