Abstract
A rapid method for the estimation of penicillin conc, in blood, urine and other body fluids is descr., based on the formation of reductase by Bacillus subtilis or other suitable test organism. The enzyme production is inhibited by adequate concs, of penicillin. Methylene blue is used as indicator in the medium. Growth of the test organism, as indicated by reductase ''formation, is detd. by change of the color of the medium from blue to white. Keywords
