Abstract
Buds were collected for 2 consecutive yrs. from trees of Haden, Brooks, and Cambodiana vars. and from a turpentine seedling mango growing on the Rockdale series soil of southern Dade County. Collections were begun during Sept. of both yrs. and were continued until the trees came into bloom. A study of stained sections of these buds showed that floral differentiation occurred shortly before the end of Oct. in these 4 vars. Buds collected subsequent to the time of differentiation showed progressive stages of floral development. No period of dormancy occurred between the time of floral differentiation and inflorescence expansion, such as is common among the deciduous fruit trees of the N. Temperate Zone. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
