Abstract
The chemical composition of steady state nonisothermal low pressure plasma in which a chemical reaction occurs is studied by the methods of statistical physics. A comparison of velocities of different processes of energy transformation within the plasma leads to the idealized model of the plasma for which the partition function is found. Then, the ``chemical equilibrium'' is described by an equilibrium constant defined by such partition functions. The applicability of this model is illustrated by the example of the reaction of carbon with nitrogen plasma. Keywords
