Abstract
The upper threshold of the fluorescence spectrum of heavily doped CdS:Cl is calculated within the framework of a simple model which is valid in the metallic regime. When various Coulomb corrections and phonon effects are taken into account, the predicted threshold location is in excellent agreement with experiment. Keywords
