Depressing Effect of Inositol on Serum Cholesterol and Lipid Phosphorus in Diabetics.

Abstract

18 of 30 unselected adequately controlled diabetics were found to have elevated values for serum cholesterol, cholesterol esters and lipid P when compared with 100 normal subjects. After 8 weeks on inositol, an avg. drop of 50 mg.% in serum cholesterol had occurred, and all 30 had values within the normal range.
