Evaluation of Drug Prevention Programs by Youths in a Middle-Class Community

Abstract
Based on an analysis of data from a survey of middle-class junior and senior high school youths in a New York City [New York, USA] suburban community, young peoples'' reaction to various drug prevention programs in which they have been involved and the program topics they would like to see discussed were examined. Important relationships were found to exist between substance use, prevention program evaluations, and desired program topics. The youths selectively related to and wanted prevention experiences that confirmed their substance relationships.
