Abstract
Three autosomal mutations new to this tenebrionid flour beetle are described bar eye (Be) affects primarily the eyes; microphthalmic (Mo) affects the eyes and sometimes the cranium; microcephalic (mc) affects the eyes and the cranium. (Illustrations are given.) Be and Mo are dominant, having recessive lethal effects; mc is a recessive of good penetrance and viability but variable expressivity. Evidence is given for linkage between Be and sooty, and mc and jet. Linkage maps of the X chromosome and five autosomes are depicted. The existence of potentially homologous genes in Tribolium castaneum, T. confusum and species of Tenebrio is discussed.
