Highly excited hole strength observed in theZr90(p, d)Zr89reaction

Abstract
The Zr90(p, d)Zr89 reaction has been studied at Ep=90 MeV. Using analyzing power measurements, gross structures observed between Ex3.4 and Ex7.0 MeV are deduced to arise mainly from the pickup of 1f52 neutrons. Between 7.0 and 19 MeV, the main strength comes from the 1f72 transfer although 1d32 strength has also been observed between 16.0 and 20.0 MeV of excitation energy.
