Abstract
Measurement of frequency and latency generalization gradients were made for children between the ages of 7 and 12 years with an apparatus which measures stimulus generalization along a visual-spatial dimension of similarity and requires a voluntary response. From analysis of results, the following conclusions were drawn (1) fairly regular decreasing gradients of frequency of response were found for all age ranges; (2) amount of stimulus generalization reactivity of the younger children (7, 8, 9 yr.) was significantly greater than for the older children (10, 11, 12 yr.); and (3) while younger children demonstrate regular increasing generalization gradients of latency, the older children''s latency gradients were irregular. Keywords
