Abstract
Semb, L. S., Gjone, E. & Rosenthal, W. S. 1970. Bioassay for Gastric Sccretory Inhibitor in Extract of Pancrcatic Tumour from Patient with WDHA-Syndrome. Scand. J. Gastroent. 5, 409-414. Pancreatic tumour tissue from a patient with WDHA-syndrome was extracted according to methods for separating gastrone. Heidenhain pouch dog experiments showed significant inhibitory activity on the continuous i. v. histamine-stimulated gastric secretion when fractions 1 and 4 were given i. v (50 |ig/kg bw). Mucosal blood flow followed the sccretory pattern. No blood glucose changes took place. No secretory response from pancreas occurred. The tumour tissue thus exerts a gastronc-like activity that may explain main features of the WDHA syndrome. Keywords
