Abstract
The action of pituitary growth hormone, as demonstrated both by body wt. increase and by proliferation of the proximal epiphyseal cartilage of the tibia, is inhibited by simultaneous adm. of pituitary adrenocortico-trophic hormone. This antagonism occurs in the absence of the pituitary gland. It cannot be attributed to a reduction in the food consumption. It would appear to result from opposing metabolic effects of these 2 hormones. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
