Abstract
The effects on carbohydrate metabolism of cortical hormone in adrenalectomized, hypophysectomized, and hypophysectomized-depan-creatized rats, and of ant. pituitary extract in adrenalectomized-depancreatized rats, were studied. A synergism appears to exist between the 2 factors. Cortical hormone apparently stimulates protein metabolism and thereby causes increases in the blood sugar level and in N and K excretion.
