Abstract
Infection of guinea pigs of various ages with murine poliomyelitis virus (MM strain) revealed a significant decrease in the incidence of paralysis in the older animals. This non-specific age resistance could be demonstrated when the virus was introduced by the intracerebral, intraperit. or intramusc. route. Paralysis with regional localization could be produced in guinea pigs following intramusc. injn. of virus. The pathogenesis of the exptl. disease in guinea pigs is discussed in relation to age and portal of entry. Keywords
