Abstract
A semiclassical theory, which does not involve the use of complex trajectories or multidimensional root‐searching, is presented. For a linearly forced harmonic oscillator the number of coupled equations to be solved is halved. The rotation‐vibration coupling term is discussed and taken into account. Keywords
