False Intra-Abdominal Tumoral Images with Angiography

Abstract
Angiographic findings of tumor-like intra-abdominal masses are described. Three cases are reported in which angiographic evidence erroneously suggested neoplasia where only inflammation existed. Emphasis is placed on the careful evaluation of the patient and the meticulous examination of the angiogram looking for all the characteristic findings described in malignant tumors. The presence of hypervascularization, "pooling," an early venous phase, and especially abnormal vessels within the lesions are essential for the diagnosis.
