Abstract
From fresh lung tissue by aqueous extraction were isolated and identified: Histamine, spermine, creatine, tyrosine, arginine, histidine, urea, betaine, choline, lysine, and methyl guanidine. Qualitative tests indicated presence of nicotinic acid. The free histamine in biological materials is probably prevented from exerting marked physiological action by the presence of histidine and arginine in these sources.
