Abstract
A 46-year-old man with an adrenocortical carcinoma is reported, in whom there was clinical evidence of feminization and increased urinary excretion of estrogens. Urinary 17-ketosteroids, 7-hydroxycorticoids and pregnanediol were also increased. Postoperatively libido returned to normal and gynecomastia subsided. The adrenal tumor of this patient was successfully transplanted into the anterior chamber of the guinea-pig eye. Transplants of the tumor maintained their ability to secrete estrogens, and regressed following x-irradiation.Keywords
