Abstract
A Dubos-type clear medium, containing oleic acid and penicillin, is substantially superior to the egg yolk, potato medium recommended by the American Trudeau Society for the primary isolation of tubercle bacilli from clinical materials. Neither materials used alone compared favorably with guinea-pig inoculation. However, the use of both media in parallel gave a high recovery rate of tubercle bacilli and should be a valuable technic for the diagnosis of tuberculosis. Keywords
