Abstract
Crystalline glucagon or glucose was administered to anesthetized normal and depancreatized dogs. Arteriovenous differences in blood sugar levels during the course of hyperglycemia produced by these substances were compared. Since the data obtained were quite similar, there was no evidence to indicate that glucagon has a direct enhancing effect on the peripheral utilization of glucose. Keywords
