Abstract
We present a study of the following aspects of the Slater-Koster method in transition metals: (a) A quantitative analysis of the band structures resulting from Harrison’s solid-state table. (b) An evaluation of the Andersen-Harrison scaling laws for obtaining tight-binding parameters at different lattice constants. (c) An examination of the transferability of Slater-Koster parameters from elements to compounds. Keywords
