A Look at theCa46Level Structure withCa46(p, p′)Ca46atEp=16MeV

Abstract
Ca46 excitation energies were measured by means of the Ca46(p, p) reaction. Approximately 40 levels below 6 MeV not previously identified in inelastic scattering studies were seen. Over-all experimental resolution was 8 keV. The existence of several close-lying doublets previously postulated to explain apparent conflicts in Ca44(t, p)Ca46 and Ca48(p, t)Ca46 spin assignments was confirmed. A number of new levels are pointed out as candidates for unnatural parity states.
