Abstract
There is a great demand abroad for short- term medical workers (those volunteering their services for less than six months) to relieve existing staff, help meet local medical and surgical problems, and contribute to public health education. Both general physicians and specialists are needed. The guiding principle is to adapt as quickly as possible to the particular needs of the chosen health facility. Keywords
