Abstract
Patients (3) are reported with acute inflammation in solitary cecal diverticula presenting with right lower quandrant abdominal pain, treated by cecostomy. Technical surgical strategies are discussed along with a common postoperative complication, diverticulitis, diagnosed by barium enema roentgenogram. Mortality and infection rates following surgery are low due to prophylactic antibiotic administration. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
