Pyridoxine-Responsive Anemia with Neuropathy

Abstract
A report is presented of a patient with mild anemia and severe peripheral neuropathy, both of which improved on treatment with large amounts of pyridoxine. This is the first reported patient with peripheral neuropathy responding to pyridoxine who has not had spontaneous or induced pyridoxine deficiency. It is suggested that this is an additional example of a pyridoxine- responsive disease to be added to pyrodoxine-responsive anemia and pyridoxine-dependent convulsions. Included in this paper is a chart which reviews the cases of pyridoxine-responsive anemia reported in the English language literature.
