Abstract
Magnetic coupling to buried conductors, such as pipelines, on the right-of-way is a function of the transmission line's longitudinal electrical field (LEF) which is proportional to the phase current. A rigorous solution for the LEF uses Carson's series and requires the use of a computer or programmable calculator. Keywords
