Abstract
To the Editor: The letter by Olney and his colleagues1 seeks to present neurotoxicity of glutamate in the primate as an established fact, convincing to all who read the published accounts of their work2 , 3 with sufficient care.We have read these papers and, like Filer and Stegink,4 we remain unconvinced. Our own studies5 have been misrepresented by Olney et al.,3 suggesting that their examination of our data was rather cursory. For example, they assert that none of our monkeys were examined until 24 hours after glutamate administration. In fact (see Abraham et al.,5 page 44), monkeys were killed at three . . .Keywords
