FURTHER CHARACTERIZATION OF HUMAN SUPPRESSOR CELLS GENERATED IN MIXED LYMPHOCYTE CULTURES

Abstract
Suppressor cells can be generated in mixed lymphocyte cultures (MLC). The cells responsible for suppression belong to relatively radioresistant T [thymus-derived] cells. To generate suppressor cells in MLC the cells must be able to proliferate, while this is not necessary for expression of the suppressive capacity.
