Abstract
The utility of Bekesy audiometry is suggesting the presence of lesions of the VIIIth nerve has been cited. Limitations have been suggested by the absence of the Bekesy neural pattern in some confirmed cases of VIIIth nerve tumor. Audiologists should confine their Bekesy audio-metric findings to a statement as to the site of the lesion rather than to the pathology suggested by auditory tests. Neural syndromes other than VIIIth nerve tumors have yielded Bekesy neural patterns. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
