Abstract
The electric polarizability of the neutron was determined to be =(1.20±0.15±0.20)× from its characteristic influence on the energy dependence of the neutronPb scattering cross section, as measured in a neutron time-of-flight transmission experiment at the Oak Ridge Electron Linear Accelerator pulsed neutron source.
