Abstract
The viscosity coefficients of ammonia, methylamine, and binary mixtures of these gases have been measured in the temperature range 0°—400°C using a capillary transpiration method. The Stockmayer intermolecular potential parameters for the pure gases have been determined, and the mixture results are discussed in terms of the kinetic-theory expressions for the mixture viscosities using the empirical combining rules for the potential parameters. The experimental viscosity results have also been used to estimate diffusion coefficients in the pure gases (self-diffusion) and in the mixtures by several different procedures. Keywords
