Abstract
The authors address some typical applications and discuss the cost modeling aspects of GaAs MMIC (monolithic microwave integrated circuit) technology. The Iridium satellite-based personal communication system is discussed, along with the Altair wireless Ethernet The role played by high-volume, low-cost MMIC manufacturing is assessed.<>Keywords
