RESPONSE TO THYROTROPHIN RELEASING HORMONE IN KLINEFELTER'S SYNDROME

Abstract
In 11 patients with Klinefelter''s Syndrome TSH [thyrotropin], T4 [thyroxine] and T3 [triiodothyronine] levels were measured after stimulation with TRH [thyrotropin releasing hormone]. The 11 patients included 3 who had been noted to have a low radioactive I uptake and 2 of these also had abnormally low T4 levels. Three of the patients were receiving androgen replacement therapy. A normal response to TRH was observed in all cases.
