Abstract
A number of novel, functionalised, diarylalkynes have been prepared which are capable of forming non-centrosymmetric Langmuir-Blodgett films by Z-type deposition. The nonlinear optical behaviour of these layers has been investigated using both second-harmonic generation and surface plasmon resonance techniques. Keywords
