Abstract
Relative dielectronic-recombination cross sections for hydrogenlike argon are presented. The contributions of the KLL, KLM, KLN, KLO, and KLP groups of resonances are compared to theoretical calculations. The experimental method consists of the formation and interaction of ions with electrons in an ion trap followed by an analysis of the extracted ions to determine relative yields. Comparison with theory shows that the total cross sections agree within ±6%.Keywords
